Starting with the question “What is beauty?”, production designer and costume designer Patricia Walczak works with people who, for various reasons, are confronted with prejudice or disadvantage, to develop ideas for their self-expression and visualizes them in specially made costumes.
The artist’s goal is to make yet undiscovered beauty visible through a collaborative work and to give space to the uniqueness of each person. Thus, the resulting costumes focus on the special qualities of the protagonists that do not fall into categories such as “the usual” or “the normal”, transforming them and allowing them to become their strength.

In locations that stand for the realization of the participants’ wishes and dreams, portraits were created in collaboration with photographer Stefan Günther that break with the usual approaches to concepts such as “beautiful”, “normal” or ” not normal”. The works are characterized by great intensity. Tableaus were created between supposed normality and supposed exceptionality, in which both the protagonists and the viewers have to reorient themselves.

The vernissage will take place on April 13 at 18:00.

Duration of the exhibition: 13 to 24 April 2022.

Opening hours: Monday to Sunday 12:00-19:00.
